This file was contributed by: Dot Sorrells Cox Dotcox10@aol.com ==================================================================== From: The Walton Tribune - Monroe, Georgia October 15, 1948 Obituary of: Edmond Bolden EDMONDSON Funeral services were held at the Pleasant Valley Methodist Church on Monday afternoon, October 11, for Mr. Edmond Bolden Edmondson, of Good Hope, who was one of Walton County's most popular citizens. The well known gentleman passed away at his home on Saturday, October 9, after a serious illness of about three weeks, Revs. J.L. Drake of Monroe First Baptist Church, Auston Turner of the Social Circle Baptist Church, and A.E. Caldwell were the officiating ministers. The Masonic Order to which Mr. Edmondson belonged had charge of the burial rites in the nearby cemetery. The esteemed gentleman was born in Walton County on September 19, 1871 and was the son of one of this section's most prominent families. He spent most of his life in Walton County acquiring a wide circle of friends and admirers. He was a loyal member of the Bethel Baptist Church and for a number of years he was affiliated with the Pleasant Valley Methodist Church. He was known throughout the County for his high standards of Christian ideals as well as an outstanding Civic Leader. Mr. Edmondson is survived by three children, Roy and Willis Edmondson of Monroe, and Mrs. Albert Sorrells of Social Circle, one brother, Mr. Will Edmondson, of Good Hope, one sister Mrs. Dave Stephens, of Atlanta, and several nieces and nephews. To the bereaved members of the family, as well as the countless friends of the deceased, the Tribune extends deepest heartfelt sympathy.
