D.F. Fambrough, in Whatley district this county, death came peaceful to Mrs. Green Fambrough after a decline in health of some months, but only three weeks of actual confinement with Bright's disease. Mrs. Fambrough, who before her marriage was Miss Mary Owens, the daughter of Dock and Sarah Owens was a native of Walton County and was born March 18 1852, making her 72 years of age March 18th, this year. She lived her beautiful, eventful life in the county of her nativity and almost in the community in which she saw the light of day. In early life she was united in marriage to Mr. Fambrough by who she had ten children, all of whom except one, with their father, as follows, survive: Messrs. W.A., D.f., T.L. and G.P., Mrs. Susie Haralson, Mrs. Sallie Lazenby, Mrs Maggie Brown, Mrs. Julie Whitley, Mrs. Mattie Whitley. She never united with any church. She was Primitive Baptist inclined and one of the very best women that ever lived. Respected, honored and loved by all who knew her. She will be greatly missed by hundreds and deeply bemourned by her family and those closest to them. The funeral of this excellent lady occurred at Annie-Mary Saturday afternoon at 3:30pm and was preached in the presence of a vast crowd by Elder R.L. Cook, of Social Circle. The interment followed in the Herndon Cemetery and the grave left shrouded in the most gorgeous collection of flowers, sent in by those who loved the deceased and those she loved. The editor of the News would offer the broken-hearted his tenderest sympathy.
