The Atlanta Semi-Weekly Journal, Atlanta, GA., April 22, 1910
Social Circle, Ga. -- The funeral and burial services of Mr. J. M. Hurst, Sr., 
who died at the family residence in Atlanta, Saturday morning after an illness 
of five weeks, occurred here Sunday afternoon from the Baptist church.  Mr. 
Hurst was in his 88th year, and had spent a long and useful Christian life.  He 
married Mrs. C. B. Holloway, who survives him, as do two sons, George L. and J. 
M. Hurst, Jr., both prominent citizens of Social Circle.
