But this we know: his lifetime is not to be measured by lists of his accomplishment and memberships. Though proud of these, it is his wish that we celebrate and remember him for his loyalty, sincerity, and dedication to his family and many friends. He is to be remembered fro the glasses and laughter he raised – and above all the love and understanding he gave. James “Jim” Kidd, 82, of Monroe died on August 24, 2003. He was born July 28, 1921 to the late Claude Kid and Maude Fleeman Kidd. Surviving are: Wife; Nancy Goolsby Kidd of Monroe; Son; Stephen Osborne of Plant City, FL; Sister and Brothers in Law; Margaret and Gray Taylor of Wilson, NC, Eugene Goolsby of Reidville, NC; Nephews and Nieces; Eddie Taylor, Don Taylor, Paula Goolsby Taylor, Ellen Goolsby Sparrow, David Goolsby, and Marianne Goolsby. Funeral Services will be held on Friday August 29th at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Meadows Funeral Home with Father Daniel Toof officiating. Interment will follow at Hill Haven Cemetery. The Excellence of a life is measured only by the number of hearts that ache when we absent the earth. By this measure Jim Kidd is without equal. Godspeed Jim, well done.
