Walton Tribune, April 29, 1970

Jones - Funeral services were conducted April 25 from New Hope Methodist 
Church for Scion Jones, 99, of Monroe, who died April 24 at Walton County 
Hospital Convalescent Unit.  Rev. Johnny Rowe and Rev. J. Austin Gladney 
officiated and burial was in the church cemetery.  Pallbearers were J. W. 
Jones, Mahlon C. Grant, Lonnie C. Grant, William Simon Evans, Jerry L. Evans, 
Donnie Jones, and Horace Jones.  Born in Walton County Oct. 29, 1870, Mr. 
Jones was a son of the late Henry and Betty Tuck Jones.  Survivors include 
daughters, Mrs. Curtis Grant of Monroe, Mrs. Ethlene Seabolt and Mrs. Ophila 
Adams, both of Atlanta; sons, W. H. Jones and Harry J. Jones, both of Monroe, 
and Lee O. Jones of College Park; 14 grandchildren; and 27 great-
grandchildren.  The E. L. Almand Company.
