DEATH'S SAD ROLL
  In noting the death of a most excellent woman, the Social Circle Sentry
says: "Mrs. Ellen Chaffin, wife of Uncle Sam Chaffin, died at her home near
Social Circle Friday night. She was about 70 years old and for some time has
been in feeble state of health both of mind and body, having at times almost
lost her mind entirely. Her remains were laid to rest on the old home place
where they lived for so long, Rev. M. F. Malsby performing the last sad rites
in the presence of a number of mourning relatives and friends. Uncle Sam, who
is above 85 years old and who has been quite feeble for some time, has the
deepest sympathy of a host of friends, the editor among the number."
