Georgia Enterprise, July 2, 1896
  Mr. Thomas A. Gibbs, one of the oldest and best men in Georgia, died at
his home in Social Circle, Friday, June 26th. For 40 years, or so he was
the clerk of the Stone Mountain Baptist Association. Mr. ?. Lee, Mr. T. J.
Sheperd and others from Newton county attended the funeral service Sunday.
