R. Powell, an aged and respected lady of Atlanta, died at her home in that city late last Thursday afternoon, after quite a long illness. Mrs. Powell was the mother of Mr. Charles R. Powell and Mrs. Benson Davis, of Monroe, and both of these left for Atlanta immediately upon receiving the news of her death which occurred quite suddenly. Mrs. Davis has been making preparations to make her mother a visit, and intended leaving Monroe a day or two before her death, but was prevented from doing so. Mrs. Powell was about sixty-five years of age. The Tribune joins her relatives and friends in mourning her loss. Walton Tribune.
