Smith was wafted to its maker from North Broad Street home in Monroe. Mrs. Smith being in falling health for two years and the past year and half she had been confined to her bed. Sunday afternoon she took a turn for worse and physicians and loved ones realized the end was approaching. Mrs. Smith was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Isac Bentley, of Walton County. She and Mr. Smith were married 54 years ago, and the past 30 years of that period were spent in Monroe. For about 50 years she had been a member of the Universalist Church, having her membership at Windsor. She was a faithful and devoted member of her faith, and one of the gentleness, most unselfish of a woman who was widely beloved for her many noble traits of character. Mrs. Smith is survived by her husband and three children as follow, Mrs. J. A. Mayfield, of Milledgeville, Mrs. E. M. Tribble and Mrs. Marion Williams of Monroe. She is also survived by five brothers and three sisters as follows; Charlie Bentley of Jacksonville, Ala., Homer Bentley of Winder, V. E., V. M. and Robert Bentley of Bold Springs; Mrs. D. A. L. Still of Loganville, Mrs. Estelle Watson of Winder. In addition of these there are six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral rites occurred from the First Baptist Church of Monroe Wednesday afternoon at three o’clock conducted by Rev. Rasnake of Atlanta, assisted by Pastor James A.
