A. C. Snow Wife of J. W. Snow, SR. Who was a daughter of Jonas Hale, one of the first settlers of Walton, and sister to R. H. Hale and W. T. Hale, departed this life May 13, 1890. Thus ends the life of one of the best women I ever knew. As a neighbor, she was faultless, and untiring in her good deeds and as a wife and mother was kind and affectionate, and faithful to perform all duties incumbent upon her. She was a noble, Christian woman, always ready to reprove wrong, and hold up for the right. It is said true and undefiled religion is to visit the sick and the afflicted, then she was a Christian in the true sense of the word. We have lost her association, her example, a light and moral guide. We have known her so long and have loved her so well it is indeed sad and a sore affliction to give her up. Yet we bow in humble submission to the will of Him who in His infinite wisdom doeth all things well; hence, we exclaim in the language of Job, "The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away, Blessed be the name of the Lord." Having the evidence as consolation from her dying lips that she saw and was going to that Beautiful Home of which she spoke so much for several days previous to her death. We are fully satisfied that our loss is her gain. She has gone before us, yet, her good works are with us, which have their influence over us, and her memory will remain ever green and fresh. We feel glad that her lot has been cast with us, and that we feel better by the influence of her high moral and Christian character--more able to fight the battles of life in renewed determination to contend for the right condemn the wrong. She has fought a good fight; she has kept the faith, she has finished her course! Our hearts go out in sympathy to the bereaved family and relatives. Trusting that they will all keep the promises made to meet her above. "She is asleep, yes, Asleep in Jesus, blessed sleep; From whence none ever wake to weep." A Neighbor Additional Comments: According to Walton County Cemeteries (East), S. A. C. Snow was born January 15, 1824 and is buried in the Mount Carmel Church Cemetery. Her husband, John W.
