This is Sarah Edwards Barton (my 3rd GGM),  
wife of William Pulaski Barton, Sr. 
 
She and her husband made wicker style chairs in 
Walton County. An example is shown in the photo. 
Sarah died from burns she suffered after her petticoat 
caught fired while she was preparing oak splints for the 
chair bottoms.  She is buried in an unmarked grave in the 
Barton-Edwards Cemetery in Walton Co. 
Photo taken around 1900 in Walnut Grove.
