Tuesday, November 5, 1974 W. L. Burnette W. L. Burnette, 72, of 114 Mill St., Monroe, died Nov 1. at Walton County Hospital after a brief illness. Funeral services were held Nov. 3 at New Hope United Methodist Church. Rev. Charles Bolling officiated and interment was in the church cemetery. Grandsons served as pallbearers. Mr. Burnette was born Jan. 30, 1902, in Walton County and was a son of the late Thomas and Elizabeth Jones Burnette. He was a retired farmer and paint contractor. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Beulah Jones Burnette; daughters, Mrs. Edward Earnest and Mrs. Herman Bowen, both of Atlanta, Mrs. Ervin Woodruff of Walnut Grove; son, Larry Burnette of Eustis, Fla.; sisters, Mrs. Eva Langford, Mrs. Maudie Lloyd, Mrs. Claudia Moore, all of Greensboro, Mrs. Julia Stroud of Covington; brothers, Sam Burnette, Luther Burnette and Prince Burnette, all of Greensboro; 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
