I recommend my soul to God who gave it and my body to the dust from whence it came and to be decently buried at the discretion of my relations and friends and as touching of my worldly affairs which God has been pleased to bless me with in this world by wish is to dispose of it in the following manner - viz - I give unto my daughter Mary Julia wife of Finney Dismukes one dollar to heirs andassigns forever. I also give to my four sons Abner, James, John S. and Jesse Zachry and my daughter Celia Zachry wife of Samuel Locklin and I also give to the heirs of my deceased son Daniel Zachry a proportionable child's part the same as if he was alive - all of my property whatever it may be real and personal to be equally divided amongst my five living children Abner, James, John S., Jesse and Celia and the heirs of my deceased son Daniel as before mentioned giving the heirs of my deceased son Daniel a child's part of all whatever I may be possessed of both real and personal at my death to them their heirs and assigns forever after Samuel Locklin is fully satisfied for his trouble. I do hereby appoint Samuel Locklin Executor of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all others by me heretofore made. The testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed by seal this twenty-second (22) day of August (1827) one thousand and eight hundred and twenty-seven." Sarah signed with her seal and by mark. The will was signed sealed and acknowledged in the presence of D.H. Griffith, John L. Griffith, James Z. Locklin; it was proved by the three witnesses 3 Mar 1828 with Job Smith CCO and recorded 5 March 1828 (BkB:31).
