Mt Pleasant Cemetery NUNEZ Family Submitted by Raymond Jones NUNEZ JOHN BARNEY 00 JAN 1874- 24 OCT 1902 (Possibly died in El Paso Texas) FATHER:  NUNEZ DANIEL G MOTHER- JUSTICE VICY FLEMING MARY ELIZABETH 11 NOV 1863-22 NOV 1943 BOTH BURIED AT LOTT CEM- SECTION: LOT: 9 I recieved the three photographs from Al and Ann Jacobson of Blackshear, GA in April 1997 of these headstones at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery near Waycross, GA in April 1997. Pioneers of Wiregrass Georgia by Folks Huxford - Vol. 7, pages 301 & 302 has a sketch on Daniel G. Nunez. Daniel lived most of his life in Appling/Pierce and Clinch Counties, but in the 1880 census he is found living with his mother Sarah in Waycross, Ware Co., GA. Regarding the Huxford sketch, my grandfather, John B. Nunez II, says his grandmother was Daniel's sister Isabelle "Bell" Nunez and his grandfather was James Burrell Jones of Wayne County, GA. John, Franklin and Olivette Nunez were all Isabelle's children. Daniel G. Nunez Daniel's inscription reads: D. G. NUNEZ BORN, Mar 18, 1837 DIED, Feb. 8, 1897 "May he find joy in the life everlasting" Daniel G. Nunez' mother is found in Pioneers of Wiregrass Georgia - VOL. 7, pg 300. The sketch is about Daniel's father, Daniel A. Nunez, and says Sarah Ann Cole, born May 23, 1813, is the daughter of William D. Cole and Temperance Meek. She married Daniel A. Nunez in 1833 in Appling Co., Georgia.  She is the mother of his 11 children.  She died August 18, 1897 and is buried at Mount Pleasant Church near Waycross, Ware County, Georgia.    Sarah Ann Cole Nunez Her inscription reads: SARAH Wife of D. A. NUNEZ Born May 23, 1813 Died August 18, 1897  I can't read the epitath in the photograph. Rev. William P. Nunez was born February 18,  1841 and died January 1, 1924. His first wife's name was Mary Whitehead and his second wife was Mrs. Elender (Dedge) Boyette, widow of Asbury Boyette. He lived all his life in the Ware County area.   Elder W. P. Nunez  His inscription reads:  ELDER W. P. NUNEZ   1841-1924.
