J. D. Smith and R. C. Cannon have entered into a co-partnership for the manufacture of the Dollar pump, which had such a splendid sale in the South up to a few months ago when it was temporarily taken off the market. Messers; Smith and Cannon have purchased the machinery which was formerly used to manufacture this pump by the J. H. Gillon Machine Company, and have also placed orders for additional machinery. A location for the factory, which will give employment to eight or ten machinists, has not been definitely decided on. Wakefield Lodge No.27, Knights of Pythias, of this city, has closed contract with Rev. Sam W. Small to deliver a lecture in Waycross on the evening of Jan. 7. Robert McCullough, the little son of Mr. and Mrs/ W. A. McCullough, was painfully injured on Plant avenue yesterday by being run over by a horse. The little fellow was rendered unconscious and was carried to aphusician's office near by. An ugly gash was cut on the boy's face. The Knights of Pythias will have a public installation of officers next Monday might at the Court House, which will be followed by a banquet at the Rifles Armory.
