"Captain Bill," as he is called in his county, is a popular citizen, and a clever story teller and a generous hearted gentleman of the old school. He is a native of Georgia, and his ancestors fought the battle of this country for freedom from the york of England and were prominent in the various Indian wars. The Dentons of Georgia are well known and are among the best families of the state. Captain Denton is a progressive farmer and a retired merchant.
