Archie C· Hilton

 Mr. Archie C. Hilton passed away April 10, 1997 in Houston,Texas. He 
was 72.   
         
 Mr. Hilton was born in Waycross on June 30, 1925.and moved to 
Fitzgerald in 1926. He was the son of Christopher C. and Leila Walker Hilton.

  He graduated from Fitzgerald High School in 1942, served in the U.S. 
Navy and retired in 1973.

  Survivors include one daughter, Sydney Chris Mizell of Houston, TX; 
two grandchildren, Angela Christine and Archie Christopher, also of 
Houston; three brothers;  Holt M. and Christopher C. Hilton of San Antonio, 
TX and Samuel C. Hilton of Ocilla; two sisters,  Carolyn H. Deyo of 
Collierville, TN and Christine H. Cook of Fitzgerald; several nieces and 
nephews.

    He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Hilton, in 1984.

    The funeral was held April 14,1997 in Fort Sam Houston National 
Cemetery with full military honors.

   Officiating was Reverend Jim Thompson.
