He was a native of Blackshear, Georgia son of the late Alex and Annie Gilmore. He had been making his home in Atlanta for many years where he was a retired pharmacist and the widower of the late Arlene Barnett Gilmore. He was a member of the Waycross Hebrew Congregation and a veteran of World War Two where he served with the U. S. Army. He is survived by two sons Joey and Andy Gilmore of Atlanta; a daughter-in-law Sandra Gilmore of Atlanta; three grandchildren Justin, Matthew and Stephanie Gilmore all of Atlanta, and other relatives. Gaskins, 61, died Sunday afternoon (3-31-02) at the St. Vincent's Medical Center in Jacksonville, Florida after a short illness. Born and raised in Waycross to the late Calvitt H. Gaskins, Sr., and Olivia Peagler Gaskins he had resided in Jacksonville for the past 3 years. He was a graduate of Waycross High School in 1959, employed by the railroad, and active in the performing arts for many years. He served 2 terms as president of the Waycross Community Concert Association, served on the Board of Directors for the Okefenokee Performing Arts Council, served both on and off the stage at the Waycross Area Community Theater by acting and also a member of the Board of Directors. He received the WACT Award in 1989 for dedicated service. He was an active member of Trinity UMC where he sang in the choir and was very actively involved in children's ministries. While in Jacksonville he also attended Christ Church of Peace and St. Luke's MCC. After moving to Jacksonville he worked as a volunteer at the Jacksonville Symphony, the Florida Theater, and the Theater of Jacksonville. He also became very active in the political process serving as a member of the Duval County Democratic Party Executive Commission and served as chairman for his precinct. He is survived by two sisters, Cathy Medlock of Jacksonville, FL., Lecell Lane of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, a nephew, Thomas Medlock and his wife Tina of Jacksonville, FL., a niece, Amber Love and her husband Tim of Atlanta and several other relatives. She is a native of Ware County, but she lived nearly 35 years in the Atlanta area. She has been recently residing in Lake City, FL. She worked for Western Union in Waycross many years ago. She was a certified manager for Magic Market while in Atlanta. She was a member of Sweat Memorial Baptist Church, the Daughters of the American Confederacy, and the Eastern Star. She is the daughter of the late James A. Buchanan and Willie C. Anderson Buchanan. She is also preceded in death by two brothers, E. J. and Bill Buchanan. She is survived by her husband, G. L. He was a native of Waycross and had resided most of his life in Waycross and Brunswick. He was son of the late Roscoe L. Perritt and was preceded in death by a sister Gertrude Griffis. He graduated from Wacona School and Berry College. In 1965, he received his doctorate in business adminstration from Ohio State University. Following college, the government sent him to India to start a business school. Dr. Perritt worked in China and around the world as an International Business Specialist. He had been a professor at South Georgia College, Northern Illinois University and Governor State University. For the past several years, he has worked with rental properties in Waycross and Brunswick. He was a member of Second Baptist Church and served in the U. S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. The survivors include two daughters, Malissa Perritt of Bacon County; Malinda Dalelle King of Winston Salem, North Carolina; his mother, Agnes Perritt of Waycross; three sisters, Ruby Lee Wildes and Helen Altman both of Waycross, Peggy Palmer of Douglas; a brother, Gene Perritt of Waycross; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Mr. Cline, who was born in Gettysburg, PA., was the son of Thomas L. Cline, Sr. and Leona P. Cline. Mr. Cline lived for many years in Gettysburg, PA., until relocating in Waycross in 1986. He graduated from Gettysburg High School and Gettysburg College, where he lettered in basketball. He served as an officer in the US Navy during WWII. Mr. Cline founded Oxford Container Company in 1951 and his business acumen was well known throughout the corrugated packaging industry. As President and CEO of Tim-Bar Corporation, Mr. Cline directed the growth of one of the largest privately owned corrugated manufacturing concerns in the United States. Tim-Bar Corporation currently employs 1200 people at ten manufacturing facilities in 7 states along the eastern seaboard. The company's innovative specialty packaging and point of purchase display products have consistently received industry awards. He continued to serve Tim-Bar as Board Chairman until his death. He is remembered by his family, friends and business associates as an exceptional entrepreneur with highly competitive spirit. He was very dedicated to his business and the welfare of his employees. Many employees of Tim-Bar Corporation and its divisions worked with Mr. Cline for over 35 years. His legacy of leadership and high achievement will be sorely missed by everyone who worked with him. He was a well-known amateur golfer in Central Pennsylvania who won many tournaments, frequently paired with the late Kenneth G. Wenk, who was his business partner. Mr. Cline was a founding member of Gettysburg Country Club and a long time member of Hanover Country Club in Pennsylvania as well as a member of the Okefenokee Country Club in Waycross and the Golf Club of Amelia Island in Florida. He was a licensed private pilot and retained an avid interest in aviation and sailing throughout his adult life. Mr. Cline is survived by his wife, Jane F. Cline of Waycross, GA, his daughter Sharon C. Magraw of Gettysburg, PA, his son Dr. Barry Cline of Fairfax Station, VA and his four grandchildren, Leigh and Leslie Magraw and Natalie and Alan Cline. Mr. Cline's son, Thomas W. Cline, who died in 1999, left a widow Mary Sue George Cline. Mr. Cline was also survived by his first wife Margaret T. Cline of Gettysburg, PA and his sister, Helen Eckel of Toledo, Ohio. The family will receive visitors on Tuesday April 23, 2002 between 7 and 9 PM at 1700 Camellia Drive. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday April 24, 2002 at 10 am at the First United Methodist Church of Waycross, burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery. She had worked at a clothing factory and at the Spatola shoe factory and had also been a homemaker. She was a member of Mill Creek Primitive Baptist Church. Her first husband, James Allen Cason, died in 1977 and her second husband, Odell Hardee, died in 1997. A daughter, Devonda Thomas, died in 1998. MANDERS BLACKSHEAR--Mr. James Clarence Manders, 79, died Thursday afternoon (April 25, 2002) at the Satilla Regional Medical Center after a courageous battle with cancer. A native of Gilmer County, he had lived in Pierce County for most of his life. He was a retired supervisor having worked with the Spatola Shoe Factory and with the Salvatrice Shoe Factory. He was a U.S. Army-Air Force veteran having served during World War II. He was a charter member of the Hacklebarney Baptist Church where he was in the Adult Sunday School class and was a son of the late William Henry and Beulah Mae West Manders. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Roy Lee Manders.
