 Dr. Michael R. Herin, a retired dentist and former resident of Gonzales, LA, 
died Tuesday, September 9, 2008 in Waycross, GA.
 He was born on December 30, 1941 in Miami, FL. He was a graduate of the Loyola 
School of Dentistry in New Orleans, and practiced dentistry in Gonzales for 
many years. He was a Captain in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the American 
Dental Association and the Louisiana Dental Association. In Gonzales, he was a 
member and past-president of the Rotary Club, and served on the school board 
for St. Theresa of Avila School.
 He is survived by a son, Michael Herin of Baton Rouge, LA; former wife, Dianne 
Villar Herin of Gonzales, LA; three grandchildren, Jonathan, Stephen and 
Rebecca Herin of Baton Rouge, LA; his mother, Janie May Herin of Waycross.
 He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond J. Herin.
 A private burial service will be held at a later date.
 Miles Odum Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
