GA - OBIT: Burnus Estis Johnson, 1996 Submitted by Barbara Walker Winge Burnus Estis Johnson Waycross Journal-Herald, Wednesday, August 14, 1996 Burnus Estis Johnson Mr. Burnus Estis Johnson, 86, died Tuesday afternoon at Baptist Village after a long illness. A native of Bacon County, he was a Ware County resident most of his life and was a former Ware County policeman. He was also a former Camden County police chief and formerly with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the Big Brothers Sunday School Class. His parents were James Luther Johnson and Courtney Smith Johnson. Also preceding him in death were his brothers Erin W. Johnson, A. O. Johnson, and Hilton Johnson. He is survived by his wife, Addie Bunn Brantley Johnson and two daughters, Susan Gail Cranshaw and Linda Darlene Sanders, all of Waycross, four grandchildren and many other relatives.
