Ware Co. GA - OBIT: Louis A. Massey Submitted by Barbara Walker Winge Louis A. Massey Waycross Journal-Herald Louis A. Massey, Retired Railroad Employee, Dies Louis Abram Massey died this morning in Memorial Hospital following an extended illness. He was a master welder in the engine house of the Waycross Shops of the Seaboard Coast Line Railroad before his retire- ment in 1959 after 47 and a half years of service. He was a member of First Baptist Church and the Victory Sunday School Class and was an honorary member of the board of directors of the YMCA. He was also a member of Lodge 625, International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers. A native of Macon, he had resided in Waycross since 1922. He was the son of the late James Madison Massey, Sr. and Annie Maude Sheperd. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Hazel Lockliear Massey, Waycross; a daughter, Mrs. Virginia Winge, Waycross, a step son, Van D. Murphy, Atlanta; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Tommie Ann Snow, Thomaston, and Mrs. Bobbye Jenkins, Jacksonville, Fla; two sisters, Mrs. Betty Bigger, Jacksonville, Fla.; and Mrs. Alice Maude Waite, St. Simons Island; two grand- children, two great grandchildren and two step grand- children. Funeral will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church.
