W. McKINNEY Final rites were held here yesterday afternoon at the chapel of W. L. Hinson and Company for J. W. McKinney, well known Waycross painter who died at his home on Georgia street Tuesday after an extended illness. He was originally of Screven county, but had spent many years as a resident of Waycross. He is survived by his widow, a brother, J. L. McKinney of Ridgeland, S.C., and a sister, Mrs. H. F. Archer of Waycross. The services were conducted by the Rev. R. T. Russell, pastor of the First Baptist Church, assisted by the Rev. B. E. Donehoo, pastor of the Central Baptist Church. Pallbearers were W. B. Matthiessen, Wilbur Gassett, R. J. Hogue, R. W. Sweat, Carl Griffin, and R. L. Peacock. Burial was at Lott cemetery. W. L. Hinson and Company was in charge of arrangements.
