ELLA MEEKS Final rites were held at 3:30 o'clock this afternoon for Mrs. Ella Meeks, 60, who died at her home, 305 Lee Avenue, yesterday (12-28-1932), after a short illness. The services, conducted by the Rev. W. H. Tomberlinson, were held from the residence, and interment was at Oakland cemetery. Pall bearers were Leonard Woodard, J. L. Youmans, Tom Hall, R. L. Lynn, J. H. Higgs and A. J. Cleland. She is survived by two sons, Demery Meeks of Valdosta and D. L. Meeks of Douglas, and three daughters, Miss Lettie Meeks, Miss Nola Meeks and Mrs. L. H. Harris, all of Waycross, also several grandchildren, five brothers, Rev. Lester Cole of Nicholls, George Cole of Nicholls, S. J. Cole of Tampa, Cicero Meeks of Pearson, Fls., Gordon Meeks of Waycross, and three sisters, Mrs. J. M. Tanner of Douglas, Mrs. J. J. Meeks of Nicholls and Mrs. W. D. Cothren of Nicholls. The deceased had a host of friends in Waycross, and her passing has brought sorrow to a wide circle in South Georgia. W. L.
