She was a home maker and devoted mother, and gave tirelessly of herself to her family, friends, and neighbors. She was known, and will be remembered, by all who knew her as a quiet, humble person who always served others and dedicated her life to ensuring that her husband and childrens needs were met. She was a member of Stokesville Baptist Church. She was a native of Jacksonville, FL, and had attended school there, but had lived in Millwood for the past 50 years. She was the daughter of the late Charles Harold Robins and Katie Christine Holcombe Robins. Her stepmother Inez Marie Robins was very influential in her life. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, John H. Murray, Sr., of Millwood, 2 daughters Particia Ann Merritt, Rose Marie Griffis both of Millwood, 5 sons John H. Murray, Jr., Robert E. Murray, David R. Murray all of Millwood, Charles H. Murray of Waycross, Michael J. Murray of Blackshear, 2 brothers Ross Holcombe Robins, Harold Dean Robins both of Jacksonville,FL,. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday in the Music Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Stokesville Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Murray residence 3750 Murray Ln, Millwood and Wednesday evening from 7 to 9 at the funeral home. She requested gifts to the charity of choice in lieu of flowers.
