THE WAYCROSS HERALD, Saturday, October 19, 1895, p. 3:

Old Daddy Peacock
   Old Daddy Peacock, who died many years ago in Ware county, is buried at Mt.
Pleasant church, near Waycross. It is said that at the time of his death he was
109 years old.  He was the first person buried at Mt. Pleasant cemetery.  The
cemetery has now grown to considerable proportions, having been used for over
fifty years.  It is now to be fenced and improved.
