                               Vernon O. Rowell
 Vernon Odell Rowell, 77, died Monday at his residence in the Waresboro 
community after an extended illness.
 A native of Jeff Davis County, he lived most of his life in Ware County. He 
was the son of the late Richard and Mamie Swain Rowell. He retired in 1975 
from the SCL Railroad paint shops, after 30 years of service. He was a member 
of Pine View Baptist Church.
 Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Nina McCarty Rowell, Waycross; four sons, 
Randall Rowell and Charles Rowell, both of Waycross, Jery Rowell, Blackshear, 
and Johnny Rowell, Albany; three daughters, Mrs. Luther (Jacqueline) Rouse, 
Mrs. Cecil (Betty Jo) Dryden, and Mrs. June Smith, all of Waycross; three 
sisters, Mrs. Lula Eunice, Hazlehurst, Mrs. Mary Murray and Mrs. Sadie Lucas, 
Waycross; 16 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.
 Funeral will be held in the Miles-Odum Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will 
follow in Williams Cemetery in Hazlehurst.

                           Vernon Odell Rowell
 Funeral for Vernon Odell Rowell was held Wednesday morning in the chapel of 
Miles-Odum Funeral Home with the Rev. Randall Gunter officiating.
 Burial was in the Williams Cemetery near Hazlehurst. Miles-Odum Funeral Home 
was in charge of arrangements.
 Active pallbearers were Bobby Lucas, John Stephens, Jimmy Rowell, Fred 
Rowell, Joby Rowell, Lary Nasworthy, and Cecil T. Dryden.

Georgia death certifiacte #030879. Vernon' first wife was Glady Rooks Rowell.
