(Warren Co., was created in 1793 from Washington, Richmond and Wilkes Counties. "Indenture between Robert Barton, planter and James McDade, planter, for fifty pounds sterling, 100 acres on Rockey Comfort Creek on Watery and Bon Branches. Signed: James McDade and Elizabeth McDade. Witnesses: James Barton and Samuel Beatty. Source: "Youngblood-Armstrong and Allied Families," by Francis Youngblood and Floelle Youngblood Bonner. This book is available through the inter-library loan program. Prior to 1793, James McDade and wife Elizabeth lived in Washington Co. He is a Revolutionary Soldier, served under Col. Anderson before the reduction of Charleston (S.C. Hist. Com. 175F, 54. Columbia). James McDade moved his family to Alabama between 1818 and 1819.
