This indenture made the third day of January in the year of our Lord One 
Thousand Seven Hundred and Eighty Eight between Thomas Gambill and his wife 
Susannah Gambill of Green County and state of Georgia on the one part, and 
John Parrish of the County of Wilkes and state aforesaid of the other part.
Witnesseth, that for and in consideration of the sum of thirty-five pounds 
sterling money to him in hand paid by said John Parrish before the sealing and 
delivery of those presents, the receipt and payment hereof is hereby 
acknowledged, hath granted, bargained, sold and by these presents doth grant, 
bargain, sell convey and confirm unto the said John Parrish his heirs and 
assigns forever one tract or parcel of land situated lying and being in the 
said county of Wilkes on the waters of Long Creek. Beginning at a water oak, 
running N 53.E.11.5’ to a black Jack, thence S. 67.E.37.5 to a hickory. Thence 
S 30.E.27.75 to a stake. Thence, S. 51 W. 44.5 to a Red oak. Thence N. 40. W 
35 to a black Jack, thence N. 1 W. 34 to the beginning corner, containing two 
hundred acres of land be the same more or less; adjoining B. Few’s, George 
Cooper’s, the widow Collar’s, John Edmondson’s, and Henry Parrish’s lands. 
Together with all and singular the rights and privileges hereditaments, and 
appurtenances there unto belonging, or in any wise appertaining unto the said 
John Parrish, his heirs and assigns forever, in a full and simple manner to 
all intents full and clear of dower, inducements, executions and encumbrances 
whatsoever. In witness whereof we the said Thomas Gambill and Susanna Gambrill 
his wife hath hereunto set their hands and affixed their seals the day and 
year first above written.

Personally appeared Henry Parrish before me Zechariah Booth a justice of the 
peace for said county, and being duly sworn, deposit and saith he saw Thomas 
Gambill and his wife, Susanna Gambill sign the within indenture unto John 
Parrish for the contents therein contained, and that he inscribed the same as 
a witness, and saw Geo. Brewer also attests the same.  Sworn to before me the 
19th July 1796.
