Witneseth, that the said John Torrence for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred dollars to him in hand paid by the said Ansil Parish before the signing and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath bargained, sold released, conveyed and confirmed by these presents doth for himself his heirs successors bargain sell release convey confirm unto the aforesaid Ansil Parish his heirs and assigns a certain piece of parcel of land situated and being in the state and county aforesaid on Long Creek of Ogeechee where the public road from Shivers Mills on Ogeechee to Augusta crosses the said creek. Bounded Northwardly on part of same survey formally sold Jos James, Eastwardly by land surveyed for James Thomas and James Hutchinson, South by land vacant at this time of survey, Southwest by land run for John Edmondson, West by land of Robert Johnston, and Northwest by S.D. Johnsons lands originally run for Charles McCullar deceased, being the most Southern part of a tract of three hundred and fifty acres granted John Torrence the 7th of April 1789. As in registry of the Secretaries Office under S.S.S. for 78 the same month will appear. Having such form and marks natural and artificial as by a plot thereof in the margin of this indenture annexed in delineated, and expressed in count containing by estimation one hundred and five acres be the same more or less. Together with all and singular, the rights members and appurtenances thereof whatsoever to the same belonging or in anywise appertaining as unto all estate right, title, interest and claim and demand of him the said John Torrence his heirs successors and assigns, and every of them of, in, to or out of the same. To have and to hold the said bargained and described parcel of land, with every the appurtenances to the said Ansil Parish his heirs successors and assigns and to his and his own and proper use benefit and behoof forever in fee simple and the said bargained and described parcel of land of one hundred and four acres be the same more or less, the said John Torrence for himself his heirs and successors to the said Ancil Parish his heirs successors and assigns against the lawful right or title of all and every other person or persons whatsoever will hereby forever warrant and defend .
