All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/ga/gafiles.htm *********************** This file was contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives by: Karen Mouton mouton@usunwired.net LEWIS PILCHER-JOSEPH B MAY Georgia Warren County } Know all men by these present that I Lewis Pilcher of the County of Washington and State aforesaid hath for and in consideration of the sum of Three Hundred and fifty Dollars to him in hand paid by Joseph B May of the county of Warren and State aforesaid, hath bargained Sold and delivered and by these present doth bargain Sell and deliver unto Joseph B May his heirs and assigns all that tract or parcel of Land containing Three ;Hundred and Thirty Seven acres more or less lying and being in the county of Warren and state aforesaid on the waters of the Ogeechee River bounded by Seaborn Glovers land commencing at a North west stake corner on a branch commonly known as the flat Branch thence up the branch to a pine corner on the old Georgetown road ;and thence along the Georgetown road easterly until intersecting with the Savannah road to a pine corner fronting the House occupied by John and Eliza Davis and thence Southwardly to a pine corner and thence Southeasterly to a hickory corner and thence west to a pine corner (near the place now owned by James Johnson) and thence northwest to the beginning, together with all and singular the right members/numbers and appertenances to the said premises belonging or in anywise incident or appertaining thereunto to have and to hold all and Singular the premises before mentioned unto the said Joseph B May his heirs and assigns forever and I do hereby bind myself my heirs and assigns to warrant and defend all and singular the said premises unto the said Joseph B May his heirs and assigns against every other person or persons or claimants whatsoever the same or any part thereof. In witness where of I have hereunto set my hand and seal This the Sixth day of November in the year of our Lord One Thousand eight hundred and fourty four (1844) Signed sealed and acknowledged in the Lewis Pilcher presence of Seaborn Glover John N Davis Georgia Warren County Personally came before me Seaborn Glover who being duly sworn deposeth and saith that he saw Lewis Pilcher sign, seal and deliver the within Deed for the purposes there in mentioned and that the _____ subscribed the same as a witness and that he saw John N David do so likewise.
