Buncam in the NC continental establishment, continued for term of 2 yrs 6 mo, re-enlisted in the Jerseys in company commanded by Capt Thomas Armstrong in 2nd Regt commanded by Col. John Patton for the war... was discharged from said service in Wilmington in State of NC & was in battles of Brandywine in Delaware & Battle of Monmouth in the Jerseys (s) Drury x (his mark) Bynum sworn in open court 10 Apr 1823 ... [affadivit by Bynum describing his property & physical condition] has 20 acres pine land, 3 cows, 4 calves & yearlings, 2 sows, 12 shoats (occupation a farmer) this declarant left shoulder is out of place & is of no use to him, no one residing with said declarant but his wife who is 46 years old ...
