ROdgers richardmrodgers@email.msn.com ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Charles Malcolm Rodgers, son of the late Charlie Mack Rodgers and Lillie Belle Ray Rodgers, born February 22, 1925, in Shorter, Macon County, Alabama, died on August 2, 1999, at University Hospital Medical Center in Augusta, Georgia. His funeral was from Beggs Funeral Home Chapel, Thomson, Georgia, the Rev. Chester Hall officiating, with the Rev. Joseph Cirou and the Rev. Richard M. Rodgers assisting. He was buried at Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens, with graveside rites provided by members of Franklin Lodge, Free and Accepted Masons, Warrenton, Georgia. Mr. Rodgers had sometime served as Worshipful Master of Milo Abercrombie Lodge, Shorter, Alabama. Mr. Rodgers is survived by his wife, Mrs. Betty Jean Gilbert Rodgers, Camak, Georgia; by four sons: the Rev. Richard Malcolm Rodgers, Decatur, Georgia; Charles Dudley Rodgers, Thomson, Georgia; Claude Jefferson Rodgers, Jewell, Georgia; and Johnny Mack Rodgers, Thomson, Georgia; by two daughters: Mrs. Penelope Diane Rodgers Edenfield, Augusta, Georgia; and Mrs. Ginger Belle Rodgers Taylor, Thomson, Georgia; by two brothers: James Dudley Rodgers and Richard Franklin Rodgers, both of Montgomery, Alabama; by one sister, Mrs. Zadie Louise Rodgers Cole, also of Montgomery, Alabama; by six grandsons: Thomas Jefferson Rodgers, Charles Dudley Rodgers, Jr., Christopher Charles Rodgers, Mack Dalton Rodgers, Thomas Ray Rodgers, and Dylan James Taylor; by three granddaughters: Angela Christina Rodgers Bolin, Mina Elizabeth Rodgers, and Carmen Leigh Rodgers; and by two great grandchildren: Robert Brandon Bolin and Caroline Elizabeth Bolin. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter Jena Denise Rodgers. Pallbearers were his sons the Rev. Richard Malcolm Rodgers, Charles Dudley Rodgers, Claude Jefferson Rodgers, and Johnny Mack Rodgers, and his grandsons Thomas Jefferson Rodgers and Charles Dudley Rodgers, Jr. May he rest in peace, may his memory be eternal, and may light perpetual shine upon him.
