W. Williams Dies at Augusta Warrenton, Ga., May 8 – Wayman W. Williams, 37, husband of Mrs. Vera Birdsong Williams of Jewell, died at an Augusta infirmary today. Funeral services will be conducted at Methodist church tomorrow afternoon at 3:30 o’clock with the Rev. George Wright of Mayfield, Ga., officiating. Interment will follow in the churchyard. Pallbearers will be John Mitchell, Henry Mitchell, W. P. Carr, Joe Raley, Clarence Twilley, Jr., and Fred Howell. Besides his wife he is survived by his mother, Mrs. Emma Williams; two sisters, Miss Etta Williams and Mrs. George Howell of Jewels; brother, Wyman Williams of Jewels. Mr. Williams was a native of Warren county. He was a sawmill operator and mechanic. He was superintendent of the Jewell Methodist church Sunday School for many years. Additional Comments: Wayman Williams was born March 8, 1907, Glascock Co., GA, died May 9, 1945, Augusta, Ga., son of Charles W. Williams and Emma Shelton. He and his brother, Charles Wyman Williams, were twins. He was married to Vera Birdsong, daughter of Edgar Eugene Birdson and Lena Jackson.
