I, Reuben Magee of the County and state aforesaid, being in common health and sound mind and disposing memory but calling to mind the uncertainty of this life. I do make this my last will & testament. I also constitute and appoint my beloved wife Elizabeth Magee and my son-in-law Thomas Edmondson executors to this my last will & testament. I have my body to be decently buried by my Executors and then what worldly goods that pleased God to endow me with, I dispose of as followeth. Item: First. I give unto my son Ephraim Magee four hundred and twenty three acres of land where he now lives, run by Beverly Spivey, a plat which will make it appear, also one bed & furniture. And then to my well beloved wife Elizabeth Magee each and every part of my estate during her natural life or widowhood and then to be divided as followeth. Item: I give to my daughter Mary L. Stanford two negroes Obed and Casey upon her paying to my daughter Sarah M Magee two hundred and fifty dollars before they receive the negroes. Item: I give to my daughter Elizabeth Edmondson all that tract or parcel of land that I bought of Moses Hill be same more or less. Item: I give to my grandson James Magee the son of Leah two hundred & fifty dollars to be at the disposal of my Executors for him till he becomes of age --- I also give fifty dollars to Sweet Water Church for building and repairing and for the use of the Church. And after the decease of my beloved wife or intermarriage it is my will that the balance of my estate shall divided equally between my five daughters (to wit) Elender Stanford, Mary S. Stanford, Leah N. Pearson, Elizabeth L. Edmondson and Sarah M. Magee. Wittnessith here of I have hereunto set my hand and seal the 10 April in the year of Lord One Thousand and eight hundred and eighteen.
