Barwick, 1708 Clay Street, Vicksburg, Miss. 39180 in 1910. The Bible at that time was in the possession of Albert S. Lisenby, P.O. Drawer 40, Panama City, Fla. His grandmother Lisenby was a daughter of Reddin Barwick who was the son of William Barwick and Elizabeth Phillips Barwick. The said Bible had previously been repaired at the time of transcription, holes being made by an awl and laced with deerhide thongs and bound in deerhide. The transcription was found in later years following the death of Eloise K. Barwick and was forwarded to Vera trother, State Chairman of D.A.R. Records Committee, 525 Oglethorpe Point Drive, St. Simons Island, Ga. 31522. Mrs. Strother had added the following notation to the record from her D.A.R. records: Reddin Barwick was born 10-31-1806, died 2-2-1888, married 12-23-1828 to Nancy Wiggins (marriage record is in Washington Co., Ga.) Nancy Wiggins was born 2-23-1808, died 6-2-1886. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - This was information received in 1972 by the submitter from Mrs. Strother. She also had a Barwick line and we corresponded for a long time, she sending me information from Washington and Emanuel Cos., Ga. and me sending her information from Sumter and Thomas Cos., Ga. We were able to determine that our lines connected and by exchanging, we both accumulated much, much Barwick information. Without each other, we might not have accomplished nearly as much when the fact is taken into consideration that in 1972 there were very few copy machines available and hardly no public ones for use. Therefore prior to that time and during that time, most records were transcribed by hand or typewriter. We both did a lot of searching and typing. She was a very dear lady.
