Go East on route 242. About 8 miles East of Riddleville, at a crossroads, turn left and go about 1/2 mile to the Warthen Homeplace Site. The brick walled cemetery is on the right, about 1/4 mile East of the homesite. That was in 1961. In 1994, it was back maybe 3/4 mile from route 242 in the middle of many acres of soybeans. Reverend Jordan Smith (1777-1835) and many of his connections are buried there. It's fairly large for a private cemetery and has (a guess) a 2 foot thick, 7 foot high brick wall and an iron gate around it! This listing was made around 1950 by a descendant of Mourning Smith (sister of Rev. Jordan) and given to Linda who is related to most of the people buried here. Her direct line is through Rev. Jordan's brother, Brittain, who does not have a stone, and it has never been proven that he is buried there. Linda and her husband visited the cemetery in 1994 (permission needs to be obtained by the property owner), and it was quite overgrown.
