1 December 1859      HOLT & Others to SAMUEL JOSEY


     This indenture made this the First day of December in 1859. between DAVID HOLT, GEORGE W ROBERSON, and WILLIAM JOSEY, THOMAS HOLT, and ELIZABETH HOLT of the County & State aforesaid of the one part, and SAMUEL JOSEY of the same place of the other part.  Witnesseth that the said DAVID HOLT, GEORGE W ROBERSON & WILLIAM JOSEY, THOMAS HOLT and ELIZABETH HOLT for and in consideration of the sum of $250.00 to them in hand paid at and before the delivery and sealing of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath granted, bargained, sold and conveyed and doth by these presents grant, bargain, sell & convey unto the said SAMUEL JOSEY, his heirs and assigns, All that tract or parcel of land situated lying & being in the County and State aforesaid containing 152 acres more or less, with the exception of 25 acres and half of the same tract of land whereon the said MARY JOSEY now lives, The above land adjoining WILL J SALTER, SAMUEL JOSEY, and Others to have and to hold, said tract or parcel of land unto him the said SAMUEL JOSEY, his heirs and assigns, together with all and singular the rights, members, and appurtances, thereof, to the same in any manner, belonging to his and their own proper use, benefit and behalf, forever in fee simple.  The said DAVID HOLT, GEORGE E ROBERSON, and WILLIAM JOSEY, THOMAS HOLT and ELIZABETH HOLT for themselves, their heirs and executors and administrators, said bargained premises unto the said SAMUEL JOSEY, his heirs and assigns. Will warrant and forever defend the right and title thereof against themselves and against the claims of all other persons whatever.
     In witness whereof the said DAVID HOLT, GEORGE W ROBERSON, and WILLIAM JOSEY, THOMAS HOLT and ELIZABETH HOLT hath hereunto set their hands and affixed their seals the day and year above written.
