C, 5th Regiment Georgia State Troops, or the 57th Georgia Georgia Regiment. OFFICERS AND STAFF Seaborn A. H. JONES - Captain Seaborn Jones is the father of 1st Lieutenant Weaver Harrison Jones. P. R. TALLAFERRO - Captain Weaver Harrison JONES - 1st Lieutenant. He died October 4, 1864 at Charleston, S.C., of Yellow fever. He is buried at Magnolia Cemetery, Charleston, S.C.. He left a widow, Sarah Louise Florence, and a son, Weaver Augustus Jones. James C. SNELL - 2nd Lieutenant. William C. MATHEWS - Jr. 2nd Lieutenant William L. JENKINS - Jr. 2nd Lieutenant William H. E.; son of Jesse and Mary Phillips Edenfield of Emanuel County, Georgia. he was born November 30, 1830, and died October 18, 1902; buried at the Edenfield - Salter Family Cemetery, Emanuel County, Georgia. ELLINGTON, D. H. ELTON, Robert ELTON, William FAIN, John T. B. - He enlisted October 16, 1861 as a private in Co. C, 5th Regiment Georgia State Troops. He was mustered out of the 5th Regiment Georgia State Troops in April 1862. He enlisted May 7, 1862 and became Commissary Sergeant of Co. F, 32nd Regiment Georgia Infantry. Mustered out at Augusta, Georgia March 18, 1862. Elected 2nd Lieutenant of Company E, 32nd Regiment Georgia Infantry May 7; 1862; 1st Lieutenant July 11, 1862. Received sick furlough for 30 days October 21, 1862. Granted a certificate of disability on which to found an application for leave of absence December 10, 1863. No later record. He served in Company E, 1st Ga. Inf. Reg't, then Company E., 32nd Ga. Inf Regt until his death from yellow fever on Oct. 4, 1864 at Charleston, SC. Both regiments were from Washington County, GA. He is buried in Section C11, Grave 20 at Magnolia Cemetery, Charleston, SC. Captain Seaborn Jones is the father of 1st Lieutenant Weaver Harrison Jones.
