Sandersville Georgian August 8, 1917
  The second regular camp meeting at Brooks Spring, eight miles west of
Sandersville, on the lower Milledgeville road, will open Friday night, August
24th, being Friday night before the fourth Sunday.
  Those who attend, will find a new Tabernacle, just across from the present
popular and health-giving spring.
  A way of communication has been prepared for pedestrians, and there is a
splendid drive-way, around for vehicles, and there will be hitching places for
stock, and parkage for automobiles, where they can be kept in safety.
  Ample provisions will be made at Mr. Sheppard's hotel, and a lunch table will
be arranged over near the camp ground, where the people bringing lunches can
spread them.
  I have a small tent, which will be dedicated to the use of the mothers who
have little children.
  Mr. James Brooks has given us land, placing it in a self-perpetuating board of
trustees, and on this land is an abundance of water and other facilities for
making this a great camp meeting.
  I count my friends by the thousands in Washington County, and hereby ask them
all to-come and help make this a great resort for the water of this life, and
that which is to come.
  The pastors of Sandersville and the pastor of the Washington circuit are
members of the camp meeting, as are the pastors of Tennille.
  I trust that all the pastors and preachers of all denominations will be able
to attend and help bring on the greatest spiritual uplift in the history of this
grand old county.
