Mr. Brantley was at work at the mill for the last time during the season, as Friday night the work would have shut down. The co-incidence is that three years ago the superintendent of the mill was killed in exactly the same manner the night before the works were to shut down for the season. Coroner J.H. Thompson of Sandersville was notified of the accidental death of Mr. Brantley and held an inquest over the remains. The verdict of the jury was that his death was caused by being caught in the machinery of the engine at the oil mill.
