Sandersville Progress June 13, 1917
Woman Who Was Shot by Steve Potter Died Last Week - Mrs. George Kittrell, who 
was shot by Steve Potter at her home about twelve miles southwest of 
Sandersville 1 week ago Saturday, died from the effects of the wounds on the 
following Tuesday. She had been brought to Sandersville for treatment and her 
death occurred here. On account of her advanced age and the seriousness of the 
wounds inflicted the attending physicians stated at first that it would be 
almost impossible for her to recover. Potter was raised by the Kittrell family. 
He is confined in jail and will be tried at the next term of Washington 
Superior Court. He is an illiterate man and acts like an idiot.
