When the inmates awoke portions of the roof were falling in the rooms and they had to make a hasty exit in order to escape the flames, comparatively little of the furnishings being saved. The house was the property of Mrs. Anna C. Godfrey and it and the contents were insured with the W.A. Bell Insurance Company of this city, which will partially cover the loss sustained. The orgin of the fire could not be determined, as the entire structure was ablaze before it was discovered.
