Sandersville Progress February 10, 1944
  Mrs. Joe S. Smith who has been indisposed and confined to her home for 
several months, had a delightful surprise on her birthday, Feb 1. A shower of 
birthday cards and letters were received earlier in the day. Neighbors and 
friends called during the afternoon.
  Mrs. Raymond Smith served refreshments after which the guests departed, each 
wishing many more such happy occasions.
