The building of the bridge will be a joint project of the state highway and the WPA. The timber and creosote structure will be some 565 feet long and will replace several smaller bridges now spanning the creek. The channel of the creek will be changed, and this is the first part of the work to be done on the bridge, Mr. Doolittle said. Dirt which will be dug in changing the channel will be used in building the approaches for the bridge. Some materials for the bridge are already on hand, Mr. Doolittle said. Grading on the Deepstep-Sandersville road has been underway for some time.
