C.(Pat)English, operator of a roadside café near Sandersville was shot to death with a .38 calibre revolver, at the cafe about 5 am 4/16/1950, said to be over a poker game. Tom Brett, Jr. owner of the Arcade motion picture house arrested for murder, according to Sheriff A.W. Smith. Reported that Pat English was the fifth member of his family to meet violet death in the past 40 years. His sister burned to death, a brother scalded to death, a brother was electrocuted, another brother died in an auto accident.
