Sandersville Progress September 15, 1938
  A group of citizens who were standing on the sidewalk in front of the
Sandersville Drug Company saw an automobile come to a stop for the red light,
and immediately thereafter a snake dropped from the auto and began crawling
toward the drug store.
  At this juncture the automobile moved forward as the lights changed, and the
driver proceeded on his way, evidently unconscious of the fact that the snake
had been a fellow passenger. The men who witnessed the scene at once began
killing the snake with their heels, as there were no sticks or stones convenient.
  It proved to be a young rattlesnake, having only one button. How it got into
the car remained a mystery, as there was no way of ascertaining how or when it
entered.
