May 11 - A remarkable and peculiar accident happened to John T. Morrison while seining in Williamson's creek. A.L. Nelson was assisting him in pulling the seine, and they lifted it from the water to take out the fish. Mr. Morrison took a perch about as wide as three fingers, and, placing it in his mouth, tried to hold it between his teeth. The perch fluttered, squirmed and jumped headforemost down his throat. The opening was not sufficiently large to admit of its passage without a struggle, and Mr. Morrison caught the perch by the tail with his hand and tried to pull it back but it was determined to go, and down it went much to the astonishment and bewilderment of Mr. Morrison. He pulled its tail off in trying to get it back. He was nearly choked by the fish before it got down and on being asked by his companion what was the matter gurgled out: "I've got a fish in my throat". Since swallowing the fish Mr. Morrison has experienced no inconvenience, but he does not want to try the experiment of holding a live fish in his mouth again.
