Brantley, aged 80 years, died at his home near Harrison last Friday, and the burial took place at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, a few miles south of Tennille Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Revs. L.D. Tyner of Harrison and W.M. Marshall of Tennille officiating. Mr. Brantley is survived by one son, Roger Brantley and one daughter, Miss Georgia Brantley. He was one of Washington county's prominent citizens and had been a frequent visitor to Tennille and Sandersville, where he had many friends who appreciated his worth as an up-right citizen. He was a brother of the late A.L. Brantley and Lee A. Brantley, who were Baptist ministers in charge of churches in this section of Georgia in the years of the past. Mr. Brantley was a son of the late W.G. Brantley, who was a pioneer citizen of Washington county. He was born July 25, 1857. He was married to Miss Susan B. Harrison December 4, 1879, and on December 4, 1929 they celebrated their golden wedding. Mr. Brantley united with the Bethany Baptist church in early manhood and soon thereafter was ordained a deacon and was serving in this capacity at the time of his death. He was a successful farmer and his many friends admired him for his sterling character, as he always endeavored to do what he believed was right in his dealings with his fellow man. The pall bearers at the funeral were his nephews, O.B. Brantley, Ozie Brantley, Hiram Brett, Remus Fulford, D.W. Harrison, and Durien Harrison. Honorary pall bearers: J.G. Jackson, J.B.
