Statesboro Newspaper
  Statesboro - Silas F. Brooks, 85, died Friday at Bulloch County Hospital after
a long illness.
  He was a native of Washington County but had lived in the Eureka Community in
Bulloch County for 54 years and was a retired farmer and Statesboro merchant. He
was a member of Bible Baptist Church.
  Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Daisy S. Brooks of Statesboro; two sons, Robert
Cecil and Charles R. Brooks, both of Savannah: a daughter, Mrs. J.D. Brooks of
Virginia Beach, Va.; a sister, Mrs. Horace Lord of Sandersville; eight
grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
  Funeral services will be held at 11 am Monday at Smith-Tillman Mortuary in
Statesboro with additional graveside services at 2 pm in Forest Lawn Memory
Gardens in Savannah.
