Sandersville Progress - Dec 13, 1945
  Deepstep Resident Passes to Beyond - Thomas J. Brooks, 70-year-old resident of
Deepstep, passed away last Saturday after a sudden illness.
  He had been a prominent farmer in the Deepstep community for many years, and
had lived in this county all of his life, leaving many friends and relatives in
this section.
  Pallbearers at the funeral, held Sunday afternoon, were: Clyde Hodges, Carlton
Brooks, Cohen Brooks, Douglas Brooks, R.D. Veal, and Cecil Brooks.
  Rev. T.A. Moseley officiated at the funeral, which was held at the Deepstep
Methodist Church, where Mr. Brooks had been a prominent and loyal member.
Interment was in the family private cemetery.
  Mr. Brooks was survived by one brother, Mark Brooks, of Milledgeville, and
several nephews and nieces.
